Before the world went wild with Coronavirus I made my 100th dive from Two Fish Amed Resort. It was awesome and I’ve got some pretty amazing memories. Here’s my Blog update….

Making my 100th Dive
After a great time and amazing dives with Two Fish in Bunaken (Wall Diving), Two Fish Lembongan Resort (Manta’s) we are continuing our Divemaster Training in Two Fish Amed in the east of Bali.
Diving in Amed is mostly muck diving, which was a completely new experience for us. After visiting really colorful coral reefs we were not sure if we would like muck diving at all! It took some time to learn how to spot the small critters in the sand and to train our eyes but we were addicted right away!!
The last time I had a similar experience to muck diving, was in the desert. At first sight, it feels empty but with a close look, you find that it is actually full of life.
One of the best things here is that there is a speed boat wreck directly in front of the resort at about 27m depth. Diving in the Two Fish Amed House Reef is really convenient and it is beautiful. Just a step off the beach and soooo much to see.
So – this is where I chose to make my 100th dive with my wife Veronika. For sure we took some footage as you can see above (picture of me) but as the tradition of the 100th dive calls – I will not share more pictures.

As part of our Divemaster Training, on my 100th dive we are also doing a mapping project. This includes creating a full dive site map for orientation by noting the depths at points of interest and compass directions. We created a map of the wreck and directions that make it really easy to find. We also saw a heap of fish and aquatic life during the dive, so my 100th dive was as memorable as I was hoping for! Highlights included: Cuttlefish, Octopus, various nudibranchs, shrimps and crabs. We also found interesting looking creatures like cowfish, frogfish and a lot of blue-spotted sting ays (pictured above).
In our Divemaster Training with Two Fish Divers, we also learned so much about being a PADI professional, including how to assist instructors in the Open Water Courses. In addition, there were training sessions on courses that you can conduct yourself as a DIvemaster – we’ve learned so much and had an awesome time doing it!
