The big news from Amed this week is we can now offer you 3 different styles of diving entries. You may or may not know that many of the dive entry in Amed & Tulamben can be done as shore dives. With decent facilities on land, easy entries and exits and often not too much current, this often makes sense. Other than that nearly all centres are limited to using Jukungs – the local fishing boats. In traditional outrigger style, this is definitely the most authentic way to travel at sea here, but it is not necessarily the most comfortable. So we’re pleased to announce our third option.
Meet the Amla Sempurna – the newest addition to the Two Fish Fleet. Small but functional she can carry up to 6 guests with much more speed, range and comfort than a traditional Jukung. Most jukungs hold 3 people maximum, sitting in single file with tanks beneath them in the narrow hull. They also have no shade which can be a problem on our hot days in Bali.
With our new boat and location combined we think we can offer a top quality service – our centre is located right on the beach and equidistant from the most northerly and southerly sites in the main Amed / Tulamben area. So now we simply load up at the resort and 30 minutes later we can be descending at the Liberty Wreck, while the other centres are still unloading in the car park. And the dive sites here that are better as drifts. They are now more accessible from a fast and comfortable boat.
We will still be doing plenty of shore dives and sometimes taking a traditional jukung for a spin, but it’s always good to have options 🙂 So why don’t you come over and try the newest dive boat in town 🙂
