What a week of action! Monday morning started by assisting in an Open Water course in the pool. The afternoon we, some of the customers at the dive resort and several staff members, contributed to the Project AWARE. We went to clean the underwater waste from two diving spots by snorkelling. The week continued by assisting in Rescue course. I was playing again the troubled-diver and we stayed mainly on the surface practicing towing and rescue breathing excercises. The sun was burning hot and left some clearly visible marks on us: in the evening our faces were red like big sweet strawberries.
I did my final dive theory exam on Thursday….and I passed it!! We celebrated my success in the evening and went out to enjoy the Bunaken night life. We walked some 20 minutes through the forest and bushes to a neighbouring dive resort and sat in the bar with the instructors from that resort. It was a really relaxing and jolly evening.
Today I have conducted a Scuba Revue for two simulated students (my instructor and a dive guide) and in the afternoon I assisted in Discover Scuba Diving -open water dive. This dive was definitely one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had.
I have only two days left before I leave Bunaken and I will spent these days doing the last excercises and trainings for the Dive Master course.
I would like to take the opportunity here and now, to thank you all in Bunaken for the great experience and teaching! It has been wonderful to spent such a good time and to work with all of you: the whole diving and instructor team, including boat crew and office staff. I also want to say my thanks to the kitchen team for keeping as fit with all those tasty meals.
