I started my Divemaster course on the 18th of October. My plan to do it was very spontaneous (10 days before arriving and 5 days before the flight was i booked…) so thanks to Dani because of her helping emailing so that I had all the information I needed and also helped to book the domestic flight.
I am from Germany and my English is not so common that I want to have the scripts etc in english. So if you want to have the education stuff in another language than in english search early to get it. That was very stressful.
I started with 300 logged dives and as a Master Scuba Diver (so I have some specialties which normally need to do at the course). Otherwise I think the Program is very hard to fix everything at 4 weeks…. Maybe a longer course could be better…
So all the Two Fish Trips between the bases and to pick me up from the airport were nice and in time.
I began with some fun dives and then began the hard life. So every morning at 6.30 preparing the boats for my own education or for the education of some other students; i.e. Open Water Course. This can take a maximum of 45 minutes but at the breakfast (starting at 7.00) I am pretty hot… so I need a break to cool down before.
I also have to read a lot (my tip: start reading before you arrive – better finish it) and to watch some DVD`s, Divemaster, Open Water, Rescue, EFR.
I got also theory education by the instructors and they are briefing me exactly before an exercise (part) is starting.
I did some swim tests and we had some pool sessions and free water sessions with exercises like regulator recovery, swimming without mask and so on.
aaaaaaaaaand another task is to do these blogs so that you can share in my experience of training to be a Divemaster… 😉
