Face is painful because of sun burn, hands are tanned like a panda, unknown thick skin growing on the bottom of my feet and muscles sore. But Enjoying the fresh air, sunny days, meeting interesting people from all over the word, diving with all the amazing colorful aquatic life and gaining an unforgettable once in a life experience.

Instead of taking my DMT course at my Chinese friend’s dive centre, where I wouldn’t need to do all the logistical things, I wouldn’t need to struggle with the 5cm thick English dive master manual, I wouldn’t feel nervous when I do the briefings in English in front of all guests. Most importantly I would be eating Chinese food every day.

But, hey hey hey, attention please. I’m not here to enjoy a lazy vacation; I’m here to learn how to become a good dive master. I am learning from everyone in this dive centre. Karoline taught me even though diving is a recreational activity, as a Divemaster, we need to prepare everything perfectly, think about all the details, take control of each dive, and as a Divemaster it is absolutely a big plus point, if you can speak multiple languages. Steph is always smiling and encouraging but also she can be strict when I’m not focused. Laurent is always energetic, shinning smile and full of passion. Bryce, my dear dear instructor, who is well experienced in diving, in managing and in marketing. And I have also learnt from all the funny, lovely local dive masters.

There has been so many funny moments this week. While I was diving with my instructor Stefanie, who was simulating a DSD client in Crystal Bay. I had to hold her tank to help her keep good buoyancy, while the same time she was trying to stop a Chinese couple taking picture with anemone fish with hands touching coral. The next day we had two Chinese clients who just graduated as Open Water Divers with 4 dives. They kept confirming with us again and again to guide them as discover divers. Bryce, who is very experienced in handling this kind of hydrophobia client. Took all three of them for the dive with both hands holding two of their tanks. It looked like human side mount under the water. At the same time I was holding another discover scuba diver client like harry potter riding on his magic broom catching Quidditch while we fought against the weird and crazy up and down current in Toyapakeh, overtaking Bryce’s group at the speed of light. We have experienced some crazy cold water (16 C and the cold current made all the water blurry) with some AOW students in the north coast of Nusa Penida, usually the water is quite warm there. (26 C). All these things will become a unforgettable life experience.
