So what an experience it has been here the last two weeks at Two Fish Divers in Lembongan. The time has flown by so fast it is hard to remember where I even started.
The first few days were a bit hectic as I hadn’t been diving for almost 4 years, had only achieved nine dives and had an ambition to start the dive master course. It didn’t take me long to get into the swing of things, as the people here are so easy to get along with, helping me every step of the way. In these two weeks I have achieved my EFR and course, deep dive specialty and the enriched air diver course, which have all been a lot of fun.
One of the first hurdles was to get from nine dives to forty dives which has been a good task and has giving me the pleasure of diving with all the crew at most of the dive sites. I have since been named the monkey princess as I was unable to get myself solely ready as the staff are so helpful. The monkey has come from our new phrase on the boat ‘slowly, slowly catch the monkey’. Everyday is a laugh on the boat, I have heard some interesting stories about the relationship between humans and dolphins from instructor Bryce, which will come in handy during my life. Even though it is a laugh on the boat, in the water I have to say Karoline my instructor and all the guides Andy, Rendy, Yayan and Wakairi have been so great, patient and helpful always showing me amazing creatures and giving me lots of tips on how to improve along the way.
Night time has been just as entertaining as the day time. Having fun with the staff and guests, drinking the local spirit of Arak which is beautiful! I have been out for dinner at yummy restaurants with the staff and other guests and even the dive shop dogs, Pixie and Lucy. Also I have been pushed in a bush by Phil along the way! There is good rivalry between the other DMT Phil and me as he was my nasty victim for rescue skills test day and I got to play his pretend snorkel guest.
I have had a fantastic time here in Lembongan and have made some good friends along the way, now I can’t wait to is to come in Lembeh and Bunaken where I will complete my dive master course.
Best…DMT…picture…ever!!! Lol!!
