After another week in paradise, I have been able to do some more amazing diving in here. I started to lead groups that are great even though I still need a bit more practice. I got to see more amazing stuff like some frogfish, scorpionfish, stonefish, coralfish, and many more. I had a few days in the pool to learn how to demonstrate the skills. It is important to stay calm, to demonstrate them with slow and exaggerated movements, and to focus on the critical attributes. I also had to exchange equipment while sharing a single air source taking two breaths at a time.
I never had to share air while exchanging equipment before. I found that it was a really interesting exercise as it teaches you how to handle stress, to stay clear minded, and that you can manage it. Also if you were to have a problem underwater your stress level is probably going to rise quickly so it’s good to learn how to handle it! So far everything has been great with my training. I love the diving itself but I also really enjoy the training side of it. I feel much more confident as a diver and I feel I will be more prepared to encounter many different kinds of situations. Also, this week has been a bit calmer so we had time to do a bit of rework on the center itself: revarnishing the doors, repainting the walls, moving the signs, adding some lights. It now looks brand new and shiny!
