Hi there! My name is Ming and I had a slice of Balinese culture and a new dive site for my first two weeks as a DMT in Two Fish Amed.

In the past two weeks, I learned a lot and got new diving experiences such as clean up dive, DSD, scuba review or assist an Advanced Open Water Course. This two weeks feels like two days!

I had my first tease of Balinese culture during the knowledge review with my instructor Eze. There was a great ceremony right in front of the Two Fish dive center. Locals with beautiful dresses are gathering around 3 pm. When the beach was packed with people and music came in, people started to dance. The whole beach is full of laughs and colors. You really can not have a better knowledge review than this. Later on, a full moon ceremony was held in a nearby temple. If you are curious about Balinese culture and love diving, Amed is the place to go.

Amed has a new dive site with no official name and not sure how long it can stay as a dive site. Three weeks ago a 10m fine looking fast boat sank into the shallow sea right in front of Two Fish dive center. So it gave me many chances to pay it a visit. In just 14 days it became a shelter of much marine life. Apparently, groupers and lionfishes are frequent passengers. At night, the ship looks like a lost temple and out of the sudden, you turn into an adventurer which torch reveals the mysteries hidden in the dark.

I think Two Fish has an amazing dive-learning environment, it not only gives you enough room to make mistakes and learn from it but also pushes your limit and achieves more. Three instructors in Two Fish Amed passed me lots of knowledge that I cloud never found in books. DMT’s are helping each other with the course. I remember my first days in Amed I can only swim 50m in the ocean, thanks to instructors and Divemaster Trainee Will, 10 days later I can easily do the 400m in the ocean.

Can’t wait to continue my adventure in Amed in the next two weeks!
