2017 is off to a fantastic start at Two Fish Tech. Our Tech Instructor/Manager Yvonne recently passed her TDI Instructor Trainer Course and is now TDI’s first (and only) female Instructor Trainer in South East Asia. This means that we are now able to offer technical instructor courses at our Amed, Bali centre.
We can run technical instructor courses at any time of the year with varying durations starting from 2-4 days. So if you are a diving instructor and a technical diver and are interested in teaching tech courses then you can become a technical instructor whenever you want!
Technical Instructor Courses in Bali
At our Amed, Bali centre we are now offering professional level technical instructor courses up to Decompression Procedures Instructor. If you are already a diving instructor and a technical diver, this is for you: train as a TDI Sidemount, Intro to Tech, Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures as well as an SDI Solo Diver Instructor to add to your professional qualifications and take your teaching to another level.
Courses are taught from our base in the North-East of Bali, which offers easy access to beautiful reefs and a variety of depths required for your chosen courses. Availability is on demand, and courses can be structured flexibly to suit your requirements.
Your Instructor Trainer – Yvonne Press
Yvonne started diving in 2003 and became a technical diver in 2011 in the cold waters off the Scottish East Coast. She has since completed hundreds of technical dives in a number of locations including Scotland, the Red Sea, Thailand and Indonesia. And whilst Bali is her current base, she has a soft spot for the walls of Bunaken and an ever-growing list of ‘must-dive’ destinations in her head.
Apart from being TDI’s first (and only) female IT in south-east Asia, Yvonne teaches up to Trimix (60m) at diver level. She is a TDI Full Cave Diver, Advanced Trimix Diver and a CCR diver qualified on AP Diving’s Inspiration and Evolution. In addition, Yvonne is a PADI TecRec instructor and Gas Blender instructor.
Technical Divemaster training and Divemaster Tech internships
Not quite ready to become a technical diving instructor or not even a technical diver yet? We’re offering our PADI Divemaster trainees the opportunity to become qualified as a technical diver during their Divemaster internship. Whilst it is easiest to complete the internship at our Amed base, we can add a technical diving module to any multi-location Divemaster internship.
Another step towards training technical divers is to become a TDI Technical Divemaster first. Similar to recreational divemaster training, you will spend time improving your own technical diving skills and learn skills to help support other technical divers.
What’s happening in Bunaken?
Bunaken, Sulawesi is home to Asia’s best wall diving and it’s our second home. Tech guide Markus Reinhardt recently qualified as a TDI Trimix Diver and can now accompany our guests on open circuit to 60 meters where they will have Bunaken’s walls exclusively to themselves.
If there is one thing Markus enjoys more, it’s probably taking guests out on his JJ CCR, where he is qualified to dive to 45 m. In addition to that, Markus teaches the PADI Sidemount speciality (as well as many other recreational courses). Together with dive guide supervisor Rolly, he is also one of our qualified gas blenders, who look after blending and filling anything other than air or EAN32 in Bunaken and Lembeh.
