This week in Belongas, South Lombok Blue Spotted Stingrays galore once again at our dive Site “Gili Sarang”.
We have often seen more than 25 stingrays hanging around the same spot, some swimming, some resting but all in within a 10 meter radius and to this day we are still mesmerized by it. It is truly wonderful to just hover and watch. I can’t get enough of it and the divers we have come to visit Belongas are the same often voicing the fact that they have never seen so many.
Among the many beautiful Stingrays we have had a brilliant week with Hammerheads every day both Scalloped and Great, schools of Barracudas, White tip Reef Sharks, Mobula rays, Trevally and Tuna.
As for the small stuff we have seen a lot of Ribbon eels and our resident Painted Frogfish is still hanging around which is a nice ending to a spectacular day diving.
Guillermo our DMT headed off to Belongas for the first time last Wednesday and came back with a smile from ear to ear. An experience he will never forget and he is left wanting more and more.
He loves taking Photo’s underwater but left his camera out of this trip as to see first the conditions and dive sites, but I am expecting some beautiful shots from the next trip he goes on before he leaves.
The conditions have been a little strenuous this week but like we say…strong currents equal big fish!
