Two Fish Divers GoPro Manager Restuning Sandini explains what makes Two Fish Divers’ professional dive training and internships unique.
First Indonesian Female Course Director
Did you know that our Course Director Restuning Sandini is the first female Indonesian to become a PADI Course Director? Not only is she our Course Director, she’s also our GoPro Manager. If you want to know what makes PADI Divemaster Internships and PADI Instructor Development Courses with Two Fish Divers the best in Indonesia – and totally unique in South East Asia, she is the lady to ask!
As Two Fish Divers’ GoPro Manager, Restuning says that she takes her responsibilities very seriously, not only has she reached the highest possible level of instructor certification in the PADI system, it is her aim to ensure that every PADI professional candidate that comes to any Two Fish Divers resort has the same high quality experience and the best training possible.
Hands-on Approach and Small Courses
Restuning is hands-on and schedules time to meet and chat with each GoPro candidate personally so that she can discuss their training programs with them. This is one of the reasons for Two Fish Divers’ phenomenal pass rate – and the reason why professional candidates return to Two Fish Divers after taking their PADI Divemaster Internships to take their Instructor Development Courses.
Two Fish Divers can offer a personal touch and tailor-make courses unlike many of the large dive centers in South East Asia. It is not uncommon for some dive centers to have IDC classes that are over twenty candidates – who are all competing for time with their course director and their programs are lacking in personal attention and tailoring to individual needs.
Different Locations
Two Fish Divers are also the ONLY dive operator in Indonesia that are able to offer 7 different locations. All seven of our resorts are small, friendly, personal and have a family feel which people love to come back to. We keep our PADI IDC groups small so candidates have plenty of one on one time with Restuning and our other PADI Professionals.
Our resorts are located in Bali (Amed, Sanur and on Nusa Lembongan Island), North Sulawesi (Bunaken Island and Lembeh Island) and in Lombok (Gili Air Island and Sekotong). Indonesia is a country that is surprisingly easy to navigate and it has an excellent network of domestic flights. Did you know that our locations in Bali and Lombok don’t even require a flight and that they are just boat rides apart? Bunaken and Lembeh are also just hours apart by boat or car, and North Sulawesi is only a 2 hour flight from Bali! We also help with travel planning from resort to resort – let us take care of the logistics so you don’t have to!
Full-time and Professional
Having a full-time Course Director is another major advantage. Unlike some IDC Centers that hire external Course Directors to fly in and fly out, Restuning is always at one of our locations and she is always on hand to talk to candidates and our teams.
Another key aspect of Restuning’s GoPro Manager role is to ensure that PADI Standards are not only being met at all of our locations, but that they are being exceeded, along with our own Two Fish Divers standards of service and safety. Restuning also delivers regular professional training to our Instructional teams and Dive Guides regarding the latest changes and updates to PADI Standards.
More about our Internships
For those of you who are considering becoming a PADI professional and are not sure whether or not life in the dive industry is for you, Two Fish Divers’ Divemaster Internships are a great way to experience “real life” in a dive center and to get hands-on experience whilst working with some of Indonesia’s leading professionals. Our Divemaster Internships can be taken in multiple locations so you get a feel for what works for you and what doesn’t. It’s only through trying things out that you’ll ever really get to find out – and with Two Fish Divers you have a wide range of possible training options and location combinations.
If you already know that you want to become a PADI Instructor, after taking your PADI IDC your next step will be to find employment. Newly qualified instructors are all in the same boat (pardon the pun) when it comes to job seeking. So what makes one instructor more employable than another? There are many additional skills which will certainly enhance your CV and your employment prospects but none are as valuable as experience.
Two Fish Divers’ Instructor Internships mean that after your IDC, you have the opportunity to stay on and actually gain experience which can be added to your resume. For the right candidates, there are possibilities to see more of the management side of a dive center as well as seeing how PADI courses are put together and dealing with real customers! Of course, for Instructor interns who successfully complete an internship, we will be happy to provide a reference letter outlining your time with us.
It has always been the aim of Two Fish Divers to help individuals to achieve their dreams – whether that is completing the PADI Open Water Course or becoming a PADI Diving Instructor – it is so much more than a certificate. When you leave Two Fish Divers, you’ll be a competent, capable PADI Professional who is properly equipped for life in the diving industry and a world of adventure!
