We have discovered the biggest nudibranch in the world at Bunaken! We have christened him Godzilla and he lives at 45m on Mandolin. Giving us cause for concern that there may be nuclear waste or something down there creating monstrous molluscs!
This particular nudie, looking a little bit like a spanish dancer was at least 40-45cm long and I am sure it bared its teeth at us as we passed. Mandolin is a great site beautiful, healthy corals an abundance of fish and usually some very brisk currents to keep you entertained.
Guillermo, one of our DMTs has now left us and moved on to Lembeh to take the last steps on his way to becoming a divemaster, and Scott has finished all of his specialties and Rescue course, now a Master Scuba Diver! He has commenced his divemaster studies in earnest!
We have had very mild conditions again this week, though a little bit nippy. A couple of 23C s and 24C s and even a 21C down deep, ouch! Which is a shame as we have had a visitor over from Koh Tao in Thailand looking to gain some experience in challenging conditions tech diving; and we have barely had a current. Chris is doing his technical diving instructor course in Thailand and needs a certain number of deep deco dives as a prerequisite. So we have been enjoying a lot of that nice fresh water down deep.
We also welcome back Yvonne who dived with us last year and has now come back to take over the Technical diving department and help Dion with the Recreational side. Hope you enjoy your stay Yvonne.
