Life as a Bunaken Divemaster Trainee Continued…..

Hey everyone! it’s blog time from Conny (Bunaken Divemaster Trainee) again!

At Two Fish Divers Bunaken this week it has been blue sky, warm weather, a mild breeze (if we’re lucky 😉 and singing birds. It is a wonderful place to be and I feel at home already! This week Bastien (my neighbour) and I had a crab in our bathroom. Thankfully Bastien released the crab and put it back in the water. But did you know? Crabs are really good climbers! İ did not know that but I am learning so many new things as a Bunaken Divemaster Trainee! Bastien and I also have a chalkboard in the restaurant that we can draw on and put different fun facts up every few days!

The diving we have done this week has been amazing! Underwater this week has been EPİC! There are not enough words to describe it and you have to feel (and to see) it to believe it. Two days ago I had a shark swimming back and forth beside us for a whole 50 minutes. My Divemaster Internship is everything I was hoping for! Then today on our first dive we saw 41 different turtles and 3 sharks all in only 50 min! That’s SOOOO awesome!!!

At the moment I am doing one of my practical assessments for my Divemaster program which is assisting with a continuing education course. I am assisting Maia with a PADI Advanced Open Water Course with one student. It is pretty cool to see how it works and learn how to help as a Bunaken Divemaster Trainee. He is doing really good and is perfect for me to learn with and improve my skills.

Yesterday evening after diving almost all the guests at Two Fish Bunaken walked to the village together. We explored the village and then headed to the beach to take pictures of the sunset. Unfortunately, a thunderstorm came up so the sun was hidden behind a bunch of dark clouds. But we all could see the wonderful sunset behind the cloud or maybe because of a ‘Bitang’. Back at home (Two Fish Divers) it started to rain. We tried to hide at the bar but because they weren’t quite finished with the last bit of the roof we got a little wet. We had a great view of the thunderstorm and laughed a lot! That’s the beautiful thing here and these things make your holiday perfect and I know I will have lots of awesome memories from my time as a Bunaken Divemaster Trainee!
