This week in Lembongan…. The underwater world is even preparing for Christmas with hard corals covered in these Christmas Tree Worms.It is almost like the ocean knows it’s Christmas. Normally a shy creature, when ever anything comes close, these worms suck themselves back into the hole in the coral.

These cool looking creators are obviously named for how they look like Christmas tress but did you know that it is in fact their bum that is sicking out of the hole? Christmas tree worms are filter feeders which means they pick nutrition from the water. The rest of the worm lives inside the coral and uses the hard shell of the coral for protection. The Christmas tree part of the worm that sticks out of the coral is a specialized mouth appendages, anything that gets stick in the tree is brought down to the worms mouth inside the coral. 

Nathalie and Pascal have been diving with us all week. They were not so lucky with the manta rays on their first dive at Manta Bay but had many encounters with them today at Manta Point. The currents have been calm so the diving has been very easy, lots of time to look for the small things.

Even though it is out of season, 1 mola has been seen this week. We have also seen; boxer crab, skeleton shrimp, frog fish, octopus, ribbon eel, scorpion leaf fish and loads of nudis!
