Time is running fast when you are having a great time and that has been unfortunately so true for me. After the first three weeks of my Divemaster training on Bunaken, I really was not ready to leave for Nusa Lembongan. It was not easy all the time, I have learned a lot from my instructors Markus and Dion. Neither of them given up with me, even when I gave them hard time. Like during my first attempt to guide the night dive I kicked Markus on the head so many times he spent the next morning searching the internet for a suitable helmet. When I finally got on the boat to Manado there might have been some tears of sadness (or relief from Markus and Dion). But joking aside I loved diving and living on Bunaken, it was an amazing stay and I will always remember the amazing people I met. Thanks again guys.
I arrived on Nusa Lembongan 11 days ago and today I had one of my best dive days ever. Amazingly, we saw a Mola Mola on the dive today! It is not the season for them but a few people had seen them this month. So at the start of the dive we descended down the wall to look around, we were almost about to ascend when I heard frantic “dinging” and there it was. What a moment, I almost couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
I am supposed to leave at the end of February for Gili Air to complete my Divemaster training. Now I have 8 days left on Lembongan and again I am so not ready to leave! Nat and Sandra are the instructors on Lembongan are great people with lots of patience. The dive guides and staff here are really friendly and it is great fun with them. As for the island itself, well you’ll have to come check it our for yourself, it is definitely worthy. The diving is different from Bunaken (I have seen my first mantas here as well!) with some challenging conditions due to surge, swell, and currents. I am really glad to have experienced both places.
Looking back on what I have written, I worry it sounds too good. But I have to say I am really having the time of my life. I still have quite a lot to accomplish my goal of becoming a certified Divemaster, but I am looking forward to it.
