Already on the second week of 2018. We have changed the year and started the new one, but the dives around Nusa Penida and Lembongan keep being as awesome as in 2017. Lots of nudis to be found; healthy reefs; shoals of fishes; massive sponges; alien-like tunicates; cute “nemos”… Different year, but same great manta dives!
After having a high swell that didn’t allow us to go to the manta sites for a few days, we have been already there in 4 occasions till the beginning of the year, and yep, the big flappy things keep patrolling the places. Feeding on Manta Bay, and getting properly cleaned in Manta Point. The action never stops, and the big fellas keep giving us great photo ops, underwater dances and even eye contact when they come to check us out.
This new year has started with a lot of courses, and some fun divers. We have had Renato and Nina doing their Scuba Diver Course, Rosaly taking the Open Water with our Instructor Anna and Helge with Dani; Katri, Caro and Renata went a step forward and turned into Advanced Divers. And we welcomed James, an Australian Divemaster Trainee that started the course in our Resort in Gili Air and is staying here with us for 2 more weeks.
Apart from the divers, we have had a couple of groups of snorkelers that wanted to start the year also enjoying the great corals at Crystal Bay, and enjoying the Manta Rays. And they did. Of course. 🙂
(Thanks to Walter for this photo; ok, is from 2017, but is so awesome that we needed to share it here… You are going to get 2018’s manta pics soon, no worries).
