All choosing to discover scuba diving for the first time in the Gili Air waters. It is so special to see these first time divers surface from their dives and have ecstatic “scuba smiles”! Welcome to the Discover scuba diving club Ruben and his son Noah, Holly, Dominika, and Agnes. May you continue onward with safe travels and making bubbles wherever you go onto next.
Additionally, Our instructors were kept quiet busy this week, we were joined by Iwan and Carissa from Amsterdam, this lovely couple made their diving vacation here in Villa Karang resort and got their PADI Open Water certification with Instructor Mermaid Meg and finish with fun dives to culminate their accomplishment. They ended their Open Water dive 4 by swimming with over a dozen turtles in the Gili Air’s famous “Turtle Heaven”. Meanwhile, Stefano joined us from Italy and decided to complete his Advanced Open water with Instructor Scuba Sal. Anne from the UK also joined in on the fun to complete her Advanced Open Water that she started in the Philippines, she is now a Nitrox diver, enjoy the longer deco times, Anne! Tiago, from Portugal, also started his Open Water course with Instructor Kuss and he breezed through his confined water skills and also did two more fun dives with our local dive guide Jen to finish his week. Welcome divers to the scuba community.
Along with the countless turtles we see regularly, we also ran into a school of bumphead parrot fish, eagle rays, moray eels, giant black frogfish, and a few white tip sharks swimming through our dive sites. Here is a beautiful cleaner shrimp captured by Didan off of Han’s Reef on a night dive.
