More than a week has passed since I started my 4-week divemaster internship with Two Fish Divers in Lembongan.
The first days have been intense: pool sessions, open water dives and reading reading reading – followed by the knowledge reviews of the divemaster manual. And if you get to know me just a little bit better, then you will know how much I dislike reading. And it’s not getting easier in a foreign language…
Much more I like the more practical work in the diveshop. During two days the whole team was busy taking tanks and regulators apart, scrubbing, cleaning, rinsing, sweating, to finally put them back together. I also prefer filling tanks to a quiet hour of studying – but I’m almost sure I am not alone with that!
The good news is: I am almost through now.
This success is partly due to an unintended break from the pool and the ocean: A painful outer ear infection made me stay dry for 7 days and got me 2 day trips to a hospital in Kuta.
By tomorrow I should be back in the cool wet. I’m looking forward to that and especially to go out with the freshly renovated “Blue Water” that looks amazing with the Two Fish logo on 🙂
