Hey, it’s me again, this time I’ve arrived in Lembongan for the second part of my Two Fish Divemaster Internship! After my 12 days at Two Fish Divers Amed, I left for the Two Fish Nusa Lembongan Resort and today is my 8th day here.
I’ve now experienced a change of location while doing my Two Fish Divemaster Internship and I can say it’s great! I’ve already learned a lot from the different instructors I’ve met while diving in many different dive sites.
Lembongan is mostly about the big stuff: mola molas, mantas, thresher sharks, turtles,.. not a dive has passed without me seeing one of these! It’s been an awesome start to the second part of my Two Fish Divemaster Internship.
Oh and you may have heard of it already, a great white shark has been spotted for the first time in Crystal bay. I was part of the only group of the boat who didn’t see it. It took me a lot of self-control not to cry on the boat (lol) after missing such a once in a lifetime chance. But anyway, it’s really awesome for the others who saw it! And it’s on that same dive that I spotted my first thresher shark, so in the end, I was super happy too.
The daily schedule here is different than in Amed: meeting time at 6:30 in the morning (5:45 for early sunrise dive). We first load the tanks on the boat, then the equipment, then assemble the gear before we have breakfast. I mentioned in my previous blog that every morning felt a bit like a morning workout, well here it’s different but I’m still getting a work out! Anyway I’m still fine with it, and I sleep directly when I touch my bed at night after a day of physical effort.
Another nice thing about Lembongan is that everyone has lunch together after the 2 morning dives, so you really get to know the guests. It’s a lot of fun and makes the boat trips nicer when you discuss with everyone! It also creates nice opportunities such as going to sunset point with them or even joining in for a yoga session. Another big plus of Two Fish Divemaster Internship – meeting lots of people and mixing with “real guests”.
Today I had one of the best dives of my life at Manta Point: 6 mantas were swimming in a line, they were performing a mating train but it looked like they were performing a show for us, it was awesome! Here’s a picture of 3 of them (above).
And we also saw a mola at Crystal bay after the safety stop while we were ascending. Life lesson: never stop watching around during a Two Fish Divemaster Interbship!
