What a week! Even though I’ve only been here for a week, it feels like I’ve been here for months already because I have experienced so much to fill a whole book. Of course I’m gonna spare you the details 😉
It is amazing to be back! I have been here for my Open Water and Advanced course with my friend Aline who introduced me to Two Fish Divers in the first place. I feel overjoyed to be here on Bunaken again. I’ve been welcomed with open arms and the staff that was here three years ago recognized me and still knew my name, so nice!
On the way to my very first dive here after three years, we saw some dolphins. Only their appearance can make me grin already. Every day I see new creatures which keeps it making so exciting. Today, for the first time, I have seen an Orang Utan crab, the similarity to the real Orang Utan is unmistakable. The longer I am here and the more experience I gain the more I pay attention the small animals which the guides have shown me. So cool!
In this week I have completed all swim tests, the equipment exchange, had a workshop about DSD (Discover Scuba Diving), started with three speciality courses “Deep Dive”, “Nitrox” and “Fish ID” and got a glimpse into TecDiving while working on the Divemaster theory and helping out in the shop. It feels like I’m a part of the team and helping out is fun. I would have never thought that carrying tanks would be so hard! It always looks so easy when others carry them. Apart from the diving experience that I gain, I also gain on bruises all over my body 😉
Looking forward to be here another week before I’ll move to Lembeh 🙂
