Divemaster trainees never get bored here in Bunaken. Whether practicing skills in the pool, competing at the challenging swim tests, assisting dive courses or gaining knowledge from reading the dive master manual, Ilse, Sam and Dion keep the divemaster course on track. AI must say I love it!
As environmental education is also a part of the program here, Simone, the other DMT and I decided to set up a beach clean on the beach in front of the resort. We met in the afternoon to start and we had a lot of help from our gorgeous guests Cathy and Ben from England as well as from Jana and Jan from Germany. Our Staff members who were not busy also joined in for a real team effort!
A short time later the whole beach was clean and we even cleaned the mangroves in front of the resort. All together we collected 28kg of waste… which was celebrated with a free beer in the evening.
Many thanks to everybody who helped, it was awesome to see what some people can do together in just half an hour..great!!!
