My last week on Gili Air of my Divemaster Training started very busy. I got the chance to assist a Scuba Review with a really nice customer from England. We did all the Skills in the pool with supervision of our instructor Kuss and then went on the boat to do the proper dive! It was the first time for me to do the skills with a customer and it was really fun! I have to say he was a really nice student, who made it quite easy for me.
So we had a beautiful morning with one dive at Manta Point, which was really beautiful with lots of fish and a few turtles.
In the afternoon I did another dive with 3 Discover Scuba Divers. It was a family, the mum and her two daughters. At the beginning the mum was pretty nervous but managed very well in the water. We were holding hands which helped her staying calm! I was not even helping her enjoying her dive, I was also able to show her lots of Turtles, Nudibranch, Peacock Mantis Shrimp, Boxfish, Giant Pufferfish and even a Octopus. It was so nice to see them so overwhelmed when we came out of the water!
Later in the week I met a nice Girl from Chile, who did the Openwater Diver with our instructor Kay. We had some really fun times on the boat together and were exploring together the local warungs in the evenings!
And then the time was coming and I had to say goodbye to my “home” on Gili Air and moved to our dive shop in Sekotong, South Lombok. Here I was finishing the two more things I need to do to pass succesfully my Divemaster.
On the first two days, I just went for some fun dives and made myself at home. The fun dives were really great. We saw already Whitetip Reef sharks and a Giant Stingray at a new divesite, which Jake and Jay just discovered! That was amazing 🙂 And also all the other dives I did during my time were pretty amazing as we found so many awesome creatures I haven´t seen before.
The South of Lombok is very remote but incredibly beautiful. The dive shop is just surrounded by nature and animals and my bungalow is very basic 🙂 But I really liked it because it is so peaceful and quiet here, far away from all the hassle and tourism!
