A Day of Diving in Bali
Some days are good days when all the good things just happen. One of those days was Milda’s PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, which she took at our dive centre in Sanur, Bali. The first dive of the day was the Deep Adventure Dive. We geared up in Crystal Bay, looked at the crystal clear waters and were excited to do our first deep dive. We did the skills at depth, enjoyed the cool water, and were ready to continue the dive until we saw these two big fish swimming by, they were Molas! So lucky, and perfect timing! The Molas were teasing us by swimming away far beyond our depth limits, away into the blue. What an incredible start to Milda’s diving in Bali!
On dive two we did the Peak Performance Buoyancy Adventure dive at Manta Point, Nusa Penida. This can be a difficult place as there can be surge underwater, but we were lucky that the surge was not too bad and we could do all our skills comfortably. The water temperature was also mild so we didn’t shiver our way through the hovering.

While descending we already found our first Manta Ray. The next manta rays we found at the cleaning stations after we finished doing the skills. The surge increased throughout the dive so this was good finning practice!
For the last dive we wanted to go to a drift dive site. We decided to go to Mangroves, a beautiful sloping coral reef at Nusa Lembongan. We started the dive with some exercises on how to stop during a drift dive, and staying behind the dive leader. Later on, Milda took over and became the dive leader for the last part of the dive. She directed us towards a big rock and we enjoyed the relaxing moments in the shadows of the currents, with all the fish flying around us. Altogether an awesome day! And Milda passed her PADI Advanced Open Water course – the icing on the cake!
