This week in Lembeh…. Dragons have been seen! One thing high on many peoples list to see is the Lembeh sea dragon (Kyonemichthys Rumengani). This, fortunately hasn’t been hard to find lately. Discovered only in 2006, these little guys can grow to a staggering 4cm, and despite the name can be found throughout Indonesia and some parts of Malaysia.
New guest Rob, Suzie, and Ian have been blown away that within one or two dives they have had multiple things checked off the list such as: Lembeh Sea Dragon, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Coleman shrimp, Blue Ringed Octopus. Excited every time they hit the water, it has been a field of photo sharing and comparing in the evenings.
The many frogfish have been well entertaining Phillippe and Dynphna who have both been here many times. Also we have had our very popular night dives going out almost every night, the guests enjoying the Cephalopod company that comes out to play.
Other things we have seen this week include: Common Seahorses, Ambon Scorpion Fish, Wunderpus, Robust and Ornate Ghost Pipefish, Pygmy Pipe horse, all types of Frogfish, and plenty more.
