I just got back from a fabulous trip to Two Fish Divers in the Lembeh Strait, I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was my first dive holiday and first time ‘Muck’ diving. I stayed for 4 nights, did 12 dives plus a Nitrox course. I had the best time exploring the strait, it was a treasure trove of wonderful, amazing creatures and fish.
I’ve never seen such diversity which included nudibranchs, frog fish, pygmy seahorses and octopus and many more. My list was endless, each dive in Lembeh Strait was a treasure hunt to see who could spot something incredible, which wasn’t hard. It’s hard to choose but I think my best spot was a Wonderpus Octopus.
The staff at Two Fish are brilliant, they have worked hard to create a relaxing environment where you can fit straight into a friendly community.
I stayed in a basic room which was really clean and comfortable, the shower was hot and I was provided with a towel. The meals were served at set times, where I was served tasty Indonesian food. There was a comfortable café to chill between or after dives with lots of reading material and a bar.
The resort can be reached by boat, it sits by itself on the side of the strait. It’s very pretty and I felt relaxed instantly. I was greeted warmly by Debs and Mark; they are both divers who have years of valuable experience and knowledge. They were very forthcoming and helpful with any questions I had on diving, equipment and career advice.
I decided to complete the Nitrox course with Mark, he is a thorough instructor who has high standards. I loved my first two dives using Nitrox. We went to the wreck, a sunken Japanese freighter bombed during world war one. I had such a good experience exploring inside and on top of the wreck, it was fascinating.
The office staff were very helpful, as were the kitchen staff, the resort has four dogs, two are nervous but they are all lovely and friendly. The dive guides were great, they are local lads who have dived the strait for years. They are more than happy to take you to specific dive sites that have particular sea life. They also know the names of everything! Which I think is pretty clever.
I would definitely recommend Two Fish Divers Lembeh to anyone looking for a relaxing friendly holiday, in a fantastic environment with like-minded people and exciting diving! I’m really looking forward to my next adventure there.
