This week in Lembongan… The false clown anemone fish (A.K.A Nemo) have been entertaining our divers as they dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge there way around the protective tentacles of the anemone. One interesting fact that was quite misleading in Pixar’s Finding Nemo, is that Nemo’s Dad should have changed into a female when Nemo’s Mum died at the start of the film. In the anemone household, the largest female is the boss and if something happens to the boss then the next biggest male will change to a female and become the new boss. Then things get a little kinky… the next biggest male will become the new matting partner of the newly changed female boss. Yea… great start for a kids movie. Pixar was questioned about how they got things so factually wrong and they just turned around and said “try explaining that to a 4 year old”
Congratulations to Maya and Joana for completing their PADI divemaster course with us. You can read about all their adventures in their weekly blogs. Check out the photos from their snorkel test on Facebook, where the two had to exchange their dive equipment on land with their eyes covered. It was lots of laughs!
Nemo is not the only creature that has been entertaining our divers. We have also seen; Devil Scorpion Fish, Squat Lobsters, Scorpion Fish, Manta Rays, Lion Fish, Giant Trevally, Barracudas, Needle Nose Fish, Crocodile Fish and Turtles.
