We have had a full house in Lembeh recently with guests from all over the world, including Singapore, Vietnam, Germany, Switzerland, UK, USA, Canada, Australia and more! With such a variety of languages there is one thing everyone understands and that’s what good diving looks like! Of course, with an abundance of critters available!

Fortunately here in Lembeh, even with 2 full boats going out, there is still something for everyone and also plenty of critters to go around the group. Our lucky guests recently have been ticking off all the interesting and exciting animals!

We have seen multiple octopus including Mimic and Wonderpus, Coconuts and long-armed as well as blue ring and Mototi. We even were treated to a Jawfish defending its home as a long armed octopus tried to nestle into its hole! After seeing that, we all know now not to mess with a jawfish!

Plenty of nudibranchs have been spotted covering everything from the giant “solar powered” nudis to the tiny “Shaun the Sheep”.
If you like shrimp, then this is the place to be! Tiger shrimp, Harlequin shrimp and Peacock mantis shrimp holding its eggs. The crabs have not disappointed either ranging from big box crabs down to the tiny boxer crabs (pom pom crabs).

Hairy, clown, painted and giant frogfish have been seen regularly which is always a welcome sight in Lembeh as these tend to be some of the critters top of the list for a lot of people.

We have also managed to see the full life cycle of flamboyant cuttlefish, spotting juveniles and adults as well as them mating and their eggs! It’s good to know that such a special critter is doing very well in the Lembeh strait.

There are simply too many critters to list and to remember so the best way is to get yourself over to Lembeh and see them all for yourself!
