To the surprise and delight of our divers, one of the rarest octopus in the Strait, the Hairy Octopus, graced us with his delightfully-playful presence this week. There also continues to be an excess of Juvenile Frogfish on the reef, in all colors, species and sizes. Everyone from super macro photographers to compact shooters will be taking home an incredible selection of Frogfish photos! Add the Halemeida Ghostpipefish sighting to the mix, and it was quite the eventful week of diving!Lilly completed her 7 week Divemaster training this week, and here is what she had to say about her experience at Two Fish Divers, Lembeh:
“Hi there! So this will be my last ever blog before I head back home to Switzerland as a newly certified Divemaster (if I survive the final “snorkel test” this evening…).
What crazy 7 weeks it has been! Trying to summarize the last two weeks of my divemaster internship here in Lembeh in just one blog seems impossible. How could I possibly describe my first encounters with bobbit worms, stargazers, hairy octopus and all those other magically weird creatures here in Lembeh? Everyday I saw something new and was able to learn more about the muck dive capital of the world.
I finished my Search and Recovery specialty here with instructor Dion and after that had plenty of time for fun dives and working on my photography skills with Robyn’s help. I also completed the second theoretical exam here although studying in the afternoon felt like torture seeing five adorable puppies running around at the beach. Diving and puppies, who needs more? I am very grateful for this experience with Two Fish and all the amazing people I met. Being an intern for 7 weeks in a dive resort did not only improve my dive skills but I dare say it also changed me as a person. Goodbye Two Fish, I’ll see you again!”
