This week in Lembeh …. Harlequin Shrimp pose for the cameras. The beautiful Harlequin Shrimp (Hymenocera Picta), have been spotted on a number of sights around Lembeh lately. Often living in pairs, these usually shy critters have taken a few moments to pose for our guests. They are most recognizable for the unique blue or purple spots upon their white exterior, almost having a flowery pattern. They feed exclusively on starfish and are well equipped for doing so. Sadly they are highly prized in the aquarium trade, but here in the strait our guests have been seeing them O’natural.

Guy has been so excited every time the boat has come back in. He has been seeing new things for him not just every day, but every dive! Odd has so far been able to photograph three out of the four types of Pygmy seahorses that are known to occur in Lembeh. Also Sandrine was more than satisfied with the different types of octopus she was able to see. DMT Angela, while practicing her skin diving skills on the house reef, nonchalantly pointed out a wonderpus just hanging out.

Other things we have been seeing this week include: Algae Octopus, Mototi Octopus, Lembeh Sea Dragon, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, Melibe Nudibranchs, Ornate and Robust Ghost Pipefish, Ambon Scorpionfish, and plenty more.
