Visit the Top Spot of Nusa Penida: Kelingking Beach
One of the most famous places on our 3 islands, Nusa Lembongan, Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida is of cause Kelingking Beach. From Two Fish Lembongan Resort, we pass it every time when we go out to Manta Point – Nusa Penida but it is nearly impossible to enter the beach from the sea side. Waves and bottom structure of the area don’t usually allow safe access for boats, so we can only have a look at this pristine beach. Surrounded by cliffs from three sides, only open to the west it is perfect to visit at sunset. But be careful, there is about a million Indonesian style steps down to take before you arrive at the beach, and you have to climb up them as well afterward to leave.
Even the view from the top of the cliff down to the beach is stunning. As the cliff is formed like a dinosaur and curves a lot this is the perfect set up for a selfie. This might be the point on the island most selfies are done?. Sometimes in high season there is a long queue to visit this “Instagram point” and you have to wait for about 1 hour, but you can see the beach, the ocean and in the back there is already Bali mainland with Sanur and Uluwatu.
And if you are lucky you might be able to see a manta ray passing by further away in the blue..
