This week in Lembe….. A Paddle Flap Immerges! Our first Rhinopia encounter this year was with what we think is known as a “False Rhinopia” or “Hipposcorpaena Filamentosa”. This time a Paddle-flap Scorpionfish  or “Rhinopias Eschmeyeri” has popped up to say hello. These are a popular find in the photography world so lets hope it stays around.

DMT Jacqueline has had quite the introduction to “Muck Diving”, with one dive being able to see a Zebra batfish, 5 Ambon scorpionfish (One with eggs), a Flamboyant cuttlefish, 2 Broad club cuttlefish, and misc. other critters. She is always excited to get out to observe the behavior of everything in the water.

Michael was really able to cross off most items on the list and is already planning his next trip back. He was able to get a shot of the new rhinopia and a bearded goby, which he has been wanting. Barbara was able to see a starry night and algae octopus, for the first time, just on the house reef.

It’s been an exciting week under water with: Juvenile Frogfish, Robust Ghostpipefish, Hair Frogfish, Whip Coral Shrimp, Juvenile Barramundi, Hairy Squat Lobsters, Pygmy Seahorses, Ribbon Eels, Mantis Shrimp, and more.
