Lembeh is highly regarded among the diving world for those who know about it. It is known as the muck diving capital of the world but it is seen as a place only for advanced, experienced divers. In reality, Lembeh is the diving destination fit for everyone!
Muck diving is not a common term people use when they just start their diving experience. People see the pictures and videos on tv and see the beautiful coral reefs and the relaxed turtles swimming by. This is what the majority of people think about when they think of diving as a beginner. It is only when you become more experienced that you hear about this mysterious ‘Muck Diving’.
However, muck diving is not only reserved for those advanced divers, it actually suits everybody. It does not matter in Lembeh if you are limited to your open water depths of 18m. This is because with gentle sloping sand the critters such as coconut octopus, hairy frogfish, seahorses and wunderpus can be commonly found in water as shallow as 2-10 meters! Of course, if you are experienced and Nitrox certified then you can truly explore the entirety of the dive site. But you should never feel that you are missing out by staying shallow!
Even if you’re not certified in an area you would like then no problem as we offer a wide range of PADI courses, from Open Water through to Specialties.
Even a lot of experienced divers don’t like currents but this isn’t a problem in Lembeh. Due to the sheltered topography of the strait, a ‘strong’ current in Lembeh can barely be classed as a ripple in other diving destinations. This makes it very relaxing for everyone, whether you are a professional photographer or an inexperienced diver the calm conditions make it perfect to enjoy the whole 75 minute dive!
Old or young, you are sure to find something under the water which you have never seen before. Whether it’s a rare hairy octopus, nudis laying eggs or pygmy squid mating there is a wide range of animals and behavior to see! Experienced divers will get another check off their bucket list, and new divers will be adding many special animals to their list to boast about when they return home.
Solo traveler or newlyweds, we cater for all! Just this week we have a return guest who has been to Lembeh 20+ times, a retiree starting his Divemaster course, a handful of solo travelers who have been around Indonesia and we also have a special couple who are on their honeymoon!
With such a wide variety of critters under the water, it only make sense we have a wide variety in the resort! So what are you waiting for!? Join Us at Two Fish Divers.
