People tempt to think that an IDC like the Lembongan IDC all begins on the day that the Instructor Development Course (IDC) is starting. Well we’ve got an easy answer to that which is …NO!!
In fact, it could be the case for those who arrive or decide to join at the last minute. Jumping straight in our program is of course possible, and we have had people who have come the night before the IDC started to get information and then decided to rock ‘n roll and join the course the morning after!! Why not! Like I always say, last minute decisions are sometimes the best ones!!
However, the IDC can also start way before as we are there to help our candidates prior to begin the program.
Studying before the IDC
How? Well, with the help of the technology we get the chance to get in touch with each candidates by email, facebook or any social platform. However, its not just help with planning that we can provide (accommodation, transportation, etc) but it is something that I truly believe really important and is even more my priority, and that is help with studying.
For some, simple things such as compasses might cause panic, but for most its the Physics or Physiology that create anxiety and give them nightmares!! So being able to start refreshing up some knowledge prior to begin the IDC program is a real benefit. And it’s simple – we created digital files that we can send to all confirmed booking, with one simple click and you are back into the world of the respiratory system or boyle’s law!
Reading through it and practicing with a few exams and you are back on track. Contacting me with questions? Not a problem! Unless it’s 2 o’clock in the morning and you send me a message on facebook, I will either in this case ignore the message until the next morning or reply to you with a nonsense answer as at that time.
Work and help after the IDC
Andrew, Beate, Kyla, Rikke, Thomas and Yury have been experiencing the whole “before, during and after IDC”.
Despite late arrivals due to Mount Agung teasing us all, with all the communication which was already in place since months, we managed the whole thing easily! They completed their Lembongan IDC on the 13th of December with success in the IE and they are now PADI Instrcutors!!
Now its time for the “after” part of the IDC…it is time for specialties, time for flights to new countries where they will begin their career and time for sharing their passion.
And guess what, we will keep in touch, because this is what we do!
Helping them in finding work, answering any questions and keeping in touch is what we believe very important too. Not just training them to be Instructor, but also be there for them when they get in the real world.
