Maddi’s first divemaster trainee blog WOOHOO! I’ve started my Divemaster in the centre of the Indo-Australian archipelago- Bunaken Island, North Sulawesi. Arriving on day 1 to a bunch of friendly faces was a comforting feeling as a solo backpacker, and with a few welcome drinks at night I couldn’t wait for the next day to see the dive sites.
Dive One- Absolutely amazing!! You couldn’t ask for a place with a greater abundance of fish and coral biodiversity. At no stage in your dives will there be nothing to look at. The fish are also super friendly- they have no problem swimming right up to your mask and saying hello!
Day Five- All of the dive sites here are slopes and walls, dropping to 700m deep around the island. Every day I get to meet new people, and become a friendly face to assist in their stays at the Two Fish 5-star Resort! So far this has included Open Water Courses, Advanced Courses and Scuba Reviews. People come from all over the globe to be here, so it’s very multilingual
I can already feel myself growing as a diver as I enter the PADI professional dive world- The instructors here are really great! So a big thank you to Markus and Dion for taking me on as their new Divemaster Trainee.
Alohaaaaaa,
Maddi
