Last Saturday night was date night in Lembeh for Mandarin Fish! Obviously, this particular guy or girl has just arrived to the party and has yet to mingle and meet his or her mate for the evening! These gorgeous creatures come out every night at dusk to perform their mating ritual, much to the delight of our divers.
Witnessing these delightful fish in the mating dance is quite the treat and two lucky people to see it this week were our long stay guests, Victor and Lynn. Thanks guys for sharing this beautiful image.
Also seen this week were loads of our crazy shrimps such as the Imperial Partner Shrimp, Brooding Shrimp, Harlequin Shrimp and the Coleman Shrimp. Accompanying these guys were loads of Nudibranchs such as Shaun the Sheep, the Lesser Janolous Nudibranchs and the Flabellina Rubrolineata. We had the usual suspects such as Orangutan Crabs, Hairy and shaved :), Peacock Mantis Shrimps galore, Frog Fish – Painted, Hairy and otherwise and, of course, amazing cephalopods.
