THIS WEEK IN BUNAKEN…. WOW, a MANTA RAY was spotted on a dive, just goes to show that you can see anything around Bunaken!!
Our instructor Dion was teaching Open Water course and he encountered the Manta ray and it turn out to be the Oceanic Manta ray. He hasn’t seen any Manta rays in Lekuan 3 dive site for more then 10 years so it was a very special encounter for him, and we were all really excited after the dive. This manta ray was very friendly, spending a long time with the divers, and it kept playing in the bubbles for around 5 mins. The Open Water students had already seen many amazing animals during there fun dives like big turtles and leaf scorpion fish, but they will never forget first manta!!
We had a busy week with our PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) taking place here in Bunaken. We had two candidates studying hard to become the next PADI Open Water Instructors. This IDC was great success and both candidates completed the IDC with flying colours! Well done to Quinne and Kennedy! We will be scheduling next IDC in September with our great Course Director Marlies, so if you are interested in becoming a PADI Instructor then please contact us!!
