On Charlie’s first dive he spotted a Mimic Octopus! This great sighting of the mimic octopus at the Amed House Reef made many of us jealous, that’s a good find on the first dive! Charlie and William live in Sanur, Charlie joined our Sanur Kids Club the past few weeks, this weekend he was ready for his first open water dives. His brother William joined for fun diving, William is already Open Water certified!
The first dive was at our Two Fish Divers Amed House reef, famous for its amazing macro life. After a good night of sleep, we went to Jemeluk for the second dive in the ocean. Beautiful corals and reef fish was perfect for the second day. A Titan Triggerfish caught a plastic bottle that was filled with breadcrumbs, hoping to keep it all for himself. We were amused but also sad about this, feeding breadcrumbs to the fish and leaving plastic behind…
Also, we had the pleasure of diving with two amazing groups from Singapore. Three days of diving started at the USAT Liberty wreck in Tulamben. During the second dive on the wreck, we managed to spot a turtle! Everyone was excited and stunned by the beautiful view of the turtle coming back down after a breath of air on the surface.
The second day we visited Padang Bai where we started at the Jetty, a rich muck dive site. In the Jetty, we spotted frogfish, porcupine fish, pipefish, scorpionfish and lionfish!
On the third and last day, we visited Nusa Penida where we started off with Manta Rays, many many Manta Rays. Followed by a dip into the cold Crystal Bay and a drift through SD. Everybody was ready for a nap and some food afterward. Three thrilling days of diving in Bali.
