This week in Lembongan… The molas have ventured from the deep to entertain are divers but not just at one dive site and not just the divers from one boat. 2 dive boats, 2 different ends of the island, 2 different dives and 3 molas in total.

2 of the molas were seen on the 2nd corner of Crystal Bay. The conditions were perfect, no current, 30+ meters visibility and a thermocline sitting at around 20 meters.  As the group made their way around the first corner and heading slowly to the 2nd corner, dive guide Faldo’s eyes were locked in the blue, with his knowledge, he knew that a mola would be close by. Ding, Ding, Ding, Faldo grabs the attention of the group and points out into the blue, where everyone spots 2 molas passing by together. The divers were able to take a few quick photos before the mola headed off into the blue.

The 3rd mola was spotted on the north coast of Penida at Buyuk. A lot of divers who come here, think that Crystal Bay is the only or best place to see the mola. Yes it is possible to see many mola at Crystal Bay but you are normally watching the amazing creature with many other divers. When we spot them in the north of Penida, the experience is a lot more special for our divers. The mola tend to stay around for longer allowing the divers to spend up to 20 mins enjoying the mola’s presents.

Two Fish Divers Lembongan are now also part of the mola research program that is happening on the island. The dive information that the guides get from every dive and mola sightings are then pasted onto the research time for there presents / absents research of the mola.

This last week we have been heading back to Manta bay a few times. As of late, we have been having a better success rate at Manta Point with the manta rays but the mantas seem to be back feeding in manta bay.
