My second week in Amed was a busy week. Chao has been assisting Markus on a PADI Open Water course and getting to improve his skills knowledge and practice and to dive on USAT Liberty wreck again. In the meantime, I played playing the “casualty” for Florent while he was doing his PADI Rescue Diver course. Conditions were a bit challenging for bringing the “casualty” to the shore with larger waves than usual – I swallowed a little more water than I anticipated. Well done Florent, I survived and you passed with flying colours. It was also a great way for me to refresh my own rescue skills.
I also had a chance to observe Eazy teach Alex his PADI Open Water Course. He took to diving like a duck to water or is that like a fish in the sea. By his fourth dive, he was confident enough to take the lead – forgetting one of the first rules of diving: relax, it is not a marathon. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Alex and I enjoy the many more dives you will do.
But while there have been challenges and great times, sadly Chao has moved to next stage of his DMT with Two Fish in Nusa Lembongan. With a little luck, and maybe some cold upwellings, he will see many Mola Mola. I think I am a little jealous already.
