Our wonderful Divemaster Trainee Patric, at Two Fish Gili Air has completed the final part of his Divemaster Internship and in traditional Pro diving style he embraced the time-old tradition of the ‘snorkel test’! The snorkel test has been a rite of passage for many pros, and although optional, Patric gave it a go! Here’s Patric’s last Divemaster Trainee Blog from Gili Air!
The last 2 weeks of my training went by so quickly, because there was a lot to do. All of the skills wanted to be learned and mastered, also to guiding Divers, and a lot of other things. There were naturally a few dives on the program in which our instructors kept coming up with something new to prepare us for the worst and to test ourselves. It wasn’t always fun, sometimes even frustrating, but I still learned a lot and I’m happy for that! The days passed so fast as the end became closer. Unfortunately, I had to deal with an illness for the last 2 days, the days were correspondingly hard and it was a tough end to the process. But that’s life and sometimes there is only one thing you can do, close your eyes and get on with it!
Fortunately, I was able to enjoy the final evening with the famous snorkel test (picture above!) It was a fun evening and a worthy completion of the training – a snorkel test and a Two Fish Divers T-shirt to make me feel even more like part of the team! I can hardly believe that the 5 weeks are over. On the one hand, I was glad that I passed the training (including the snorkel test), but on the other hand, I was also sad that it was already over. It was a great experience with very cool people. I would do it again at any time and can only recommend it to others.
So that’s all from me and I wish you “good bubbles” and maybe I’ll see you underwater!
Greetings, Patric 🙂
