New Decade & New PADI Divemaster
It’s a new decade and Two Fish Divers Bunaken says farewell to a new PADI Divemaster! Jens is off on his next adventure and we wish him all the best. Here is what he has to say about his 2 weeks diving Bunaken as part of his PADI Divemaster training…
I am now finishing my final days of training and diving here at Two Fish Divers Bunaken, and as I look back at the last two weeks here I am really glad I chose to be here. Having had Colin and Maia as my instructors has been a pleasure and I have become a better diver in a much shorter time period than I thought possible.
Everyday life here at Two Fish Divers Bunaken has revolved around scuba diving from the time we get up until we go to bed. Starting the day off with a couple of morning dives followed by a lunch where everyone, from the guest to the DMTs to the instructors, sit around and exchange diving knowledge and excitement about something we might have seen on the previous dives.
A swim test in the ocean or skill practice in the pool normally follows and gives us a chance to improve ourselves and learn from the best PADI professionals. You might have some time to squeeze in a little theory before dinner where the subject again is diving and everyone chimes in and shares about their favourite locations and dive spots and suddenly you’re left with a whole list of places you have to visit. After dinner is spent relaxing maybe with a beer in the bar and the guides playing guitar and singing.
One’s mindset changes completely when you enter an environment like this with the magnificent diving, tropical island lifestyle and the great atmosphere on Bunaken. It’s non stop throughout the day, but somehow it manages to feel easy because diving is something everyone enjoys so much.
The diving here in Bunaken Marine Park is amazing and I feel very privileged to have been able to spend every day in the water exploring the beautiful walls and getting to see everything from macro pygmy seahorses and nudibranches to big schools of trevally, gracious eagle rays and sharks. One couldn’t ask for more when it comes to the sheer diversity and on every dive, you see something special that you hadn’t seen before.
I feel really grateful for my time here and I’m really glad everyone at Two Fish Divers is so welcoming, they really make you feel at home. If you are at a loss for where to do your divemaster training then look no further. Professional training with instructors that really care about your development, not just having someone to fill tanks, ensures you get the quality of service you would expect from a 5 star PADI IDC Resort.
That’s why I might just have to come back to do my Instructor Development Course!
