PADI Instructor Development on Lembongan
Over the last 13 days, the 8 IDC candidates have been learning about everything that is needed to become a PADI Instructor. The Instructor Development Course teaches you to conduct all PADI core courses. You’ll be able to organize and present information, conduct skill development sessions and control open water dives. Basically, you become a better public speaker and get really good at demonstrating skills while watching out for student diver safety. Key topics include:
- PADI Standards and Procedures for courses you can teach in water workshops
- Learning, Instruction, and the PADI System
- Risk Management and Diver Safety
- The Business of Diving and your role as an instructor
- Marketing Diving and Sales Counseling
During the IDC we also run a GoPro night where we invite the candidates and other Divemasters in the area to find out more about the life of an instructor.
World famous course director
Only a PADI Course Director can run an IDC, and we run our PADI Instructor courses with the world famous Mark Soworka. Mark  has been a Course Director for almost 20 years, this makes him one of the most experienced Course Directors in the world. He has more than 5000 instructor level certifications, and was one of Asia’s first to be awarded the Platinum PADI Course Director, PADI’s highest Course Director recognition. There is no better choice to start your dive career under his wing!
Mark has built a huge worldwide network of PADI professionals, a lot of whom are now running their own dive operations. This allows him to provide a very good placement service for work after the IDC, something that other IDCs/Course Directors cannot offer.
PADI Instructor Examination
After the IDC, successful candidates have to attend an Instructor Examination (IE) in order to get certified as a PADI Instructor. This is a two-day evaluative program that tests an instructor candidate’s teaching ability, dive theory knowledge, skill level, understanding of the PADI System, and attitude and professionalism.
PADI IEs are standardized and conducted by specially trained PADI Instructor Examiners. The IE location, testing environment, and examination sessions are organized to be as objective as possible to fairly and consistently evaluate a candidate’s abilities. Only those who meet the IE performance requirements earn the respected PADI Instructor certification. There is a fee for attending an IE.
PADI IE Success
We would like to report that, thanks to the support and knowledge of Mark, all 8 of our candidates passed!! Two Fish Divers is proud to welcome 8 new professional PADI dive instructors to the world of diving.
Congratulations to Sherrine, Matteo, Mikko, Nicole, P, Flora Tristan and Rhome for successfully completing the PADI IDC and the IE!!
