Last week we provided an overview of the PADI Tec Deep Course, this week we get into the details of the PADI Tec 40 course.
PADI TEC 40 course – Gateway into Tec diving
The first level in the PADI Tec Deep Course is the PADI Tec 40 course, and will take you about 3-4 days to complete and consists of some pool sessions and 4 open water dives. Consider this level the gateway into technical diving.
During the course you will be using the full technical diving equipment configuration of twin banded tanks and carrying up to one stage tank to a maximum of 40 meters.
You will learn to plan dives using up to EANx50 (advanced nitrox) with decompression software to conduct dives with up to 10min of decompression.
Once certified, a PADI Tec 40 diver can complete dives up to 40 meters with limited decompression.
Sidemount option
You can use a sidemount configuration instead of twin banded tanks on the PADI TEC 40 course. If you do not already have a Sidemount certification then the PADI Sidemount Course can be run first.
PADI TEC 40 course Prerequisites
In order to qualify for enrolling in the PADI Tec 40 course, a diver needs to be advanced and nitrox certified with at least 10 dives to 30 meters. It’s the perfect step to expanding your knowledge about deep diving and gearing up towards further levels of technical training within the PADI Tec Deep Course program.
