This week we get into the details of the PADI TEC 50 course to plan advanced dive profiles using air/EANx/oxygen for accelerated decompression. This is the fourth in a series of articles exploring the PADI Tec Deep Course: the first article provided an overview of the PADI Tec Deep Course; the second article explored the details of the PADI TEC 40, considered to be the gateway into TEC diving; and the third article explored the details of the PADI TEC 45 course for extending your depth and time using 100% nitrox.
Take the PADI TEC 50 course to plan advanced dive profiles for accelerated decompression
The last part of the PADI Tec Deep Course is the PADI Tec 50 course, which again is about the same length of time as the other PADI Tec courses. This final leg of the program certifies tec rec divers to a maximum depth of 50 meters and requires the use of 4 tanks. Divers will have two decompression tanks to help accelerate their decompression profiles. During the PADI Tec 50 course you will be putting to the test all your previous skill and planning training and reap all the benefits of diving to greater depths safer and longer. This level is not for the faint hearted, but also not limited to macho divers. To qualify for this level you need at least 100 dives and training to the Tec 45 level (or equivalent).
Sidemount option
You can use a sidemount configuration instead of twin banded tanks on the PADI TEC 50 course. If you do not already have a Sidemount certification then the PADI Sidemount Course can be run first.
