This week, Ming and April, Divemaster candidates, had 2 days filled with wreck diving! Diving out of Two Fish Amed is a great place to sign up for your PADI Wreck Dive Specialty course. We spent the first day of the course exploring the USAT Liberty Shipwreck in Tulamben, just a 20-minute boat ride from our dive resort.
April and Ming worked as a team to map out points of interest, hazards and penetration points in the cargo room of the Liberty. They used a line to measure distances and used their dive computers to record depths. We also had a chance to practice different finning techniques including flutter kicks, frog kicks, back finning, and helicopter turns. During the dives, we spotted the residential marble groupers, bump head parrot fish and schooling sweetlips. The Liberty offers a great combination of aquatic life, dramatic backdrops, and history!
On the second day, they discovered the Boga Wreck in Kubu, Bali. The team spent the first dive navigating, mapping and laying a penetration line. Then, we all went inside the Boga wreck to have a look around. Ming said it was a little spooky inside the wreck (especially with the Buddha statues), and both he and April were excited to have an up-close look inside this double-level wreck. Happy faces from the new wreck divers! Come join us in Amed for some wreck diving!
