This week some of our guests spotted the colorful peacock mantis shrimp lurking out of his little hole go for a little walk along the reef.
Mantis shrimps are fascinating critters with their eyes are mounted on mobile stalks and can move independently of each other. It hunts snails, slugs and crustaceans and will repeatedly smash and punch its prey until it can gain access to the soft tissue for consumption.
The sun is shining over Lembongan and the conditions are good. The water temperature North of Penida sometimes drops down to 20-23 degrees Celsius, so a 5mm wetsuit is definitely recommended. But the cold water attracts animals like molas, mantas, thresher sharks and eagle rays that are very rarely seen in the North of Nusa Penida but have all been spotted recently.
We want to say congrats to Jennifer, Julia, William and Caroline who finished their PADI Advanced Open Water Course; to Bert who had fun on his PADI Open Water Course; and to Lies who had her first scuba experience during a Discover Scuba Dive.
Hope you can join us in Lembongan soon!
