I’m now into week 5 of my 6-week Eco Divemaster Internship, and the move from Lembeh to Bunaken has meant a change of instructors and a change of pace as well as a change of scene.
The diving here is amazing: walls of coral with huge schools of fish, and a turtle sighting on almost every dive. Plus the occasional shark! I’ve been taking more responsibility during dives, learning to guide certified divers and lead workshops on snorkelling and the PADI Scuba Review.
I’ve also assisted my instructor Ina on a Discover Scuba Diving session in the pool, which I really enjoyed. The past week or so has been challenging at times but now I have my fellow DMT Ross for moral support! I’ve also passed three PADI specialities: Shark Conservation, I feel like queen of the sharks with all the knowledge I have gained from the Two Fish tema. I have also completed my Project AWARE Fish ID and Coral Conservation. So it’s been a busy time, but I’m learning lots, and I can’t believe there’s less than 2 weeks left! Time has gone by so fast. It is true what they say, time flies when you you are having fun. I don’t have too much left of my course, so I am excited of what the next 2 weeks will bring.
Sounds amazing
