This week in Amed, one of our guest, Keith Massey from New Zealand, captured a really stunning picture of a Pygmy Seahorse, “Kudalaut Kerdil” in Indonesian. This creature is one hard little fella to find, but our dive guides have a trained eye.
Usually found in shallow and warm tropical waters, they attach to a host, generally Gorgonian Corals, as they are too small and weak to swim against the current. Just to give you an idea, a Pygmy Seahorse is no bigger than a fingernail.
An interesting fact is that they don’t have a digestive system, thus need to eat frequently. They basically spend their life eating and sleeping…. make a wish for your next life!!
