Our dreary weather this week was brightened up by a visit from this beautiful Reef Octopus here in Lembeh. This gorgeous creature stood out rather well against the reef by changing it’s colour to a vibrant yellow, obviously not the least concerned with camouflaging itself. Quite the little show off! Thanks to Tasha for this lovely shot.
The rain certainly didn’t affect the diving, there were critters everywhere. In fact it may been been a help rather than a hindrance as our guests were seeing all sorts in the Strait. It’s been a Cephalopod week here in Lembeh with guests encountering all types of eight armed creatures on every dive! We’ve been seeing many types including the Mimic Octopus, Wunderpuss, Flamboyant Cuttlefish and the Coconut Octopus.
Aside from these amazing creatures we’ve also had Giant Frogfish, Golden Mantis Shrimp, Lembeh Sea Dragon, Pygmy Seahorses, and many Nudibranchs, one of which was this Desirable Flabellina.
Our guests this week were all first time Two Fish visitors. Coming from Germany, Singapore, South Korea, China, Indonesia and Switzerland. It seems to be Professional holiday season here at present with many of our guests hailing from numerous dive operations throughout South East Asia. It’s always great to be able to show off amazing Lembeh to fellow professionals and see them enjoying it as much as new divers.
The sun is shining again on Lembeh!!
Happy Bubbles!!
