This Week in Lembeh… Rhinopias have returned! We have been seeing a Paddle Flap Scorpionfish, Rhinopias eschmeyeri, fairly consistently on one of our dives. These rare scorpionfish are a real treat when found. This one, still a juvenile, is only about 3 inches big was found by Nicole who has been staying with us for about 2 months now! Last time she visited she also found 2 Rhinopias!
Not only do we have fun under the water but Land excursions happen as well too. On the surface interval one day we visited the Trikora memorial. Guests Tiger and Andrew had requested a visit so about 9 of them were able to wonder around and go sightseeing.
Underwater, Neil and Debs have be having a ball competing to get the best photos of Pontohi Pygmy Seahorses, Bearded Gobies, and Kuro Sap-sucking Slug (Costasiella Kuroshimae) aka: “Shawn the Sheep”.
We have been very busy this week with all the rooms booked and 3 boats out diving. Everyone has been having a great time with: Wunderpus, Bobbit Worms, Coleman Shrimp, Hairy Shrimp, Pygmy Seahorses, Cuttlefish, and of course Nudibraches galore. Thanks to Amanda for her amazing photos!
